My Weekend FYIs

It takes infinitely longer to fold and put away laundry than it takes to actually wash the stuff. (Cut out the middle man and don’t fold. You’ll add hours to your life.)

While I occasionally wear Clinique “Happy” or “Happy Heart,” lately my fragrance of choice has been garlic or a great new fragrance called “Deet.”

There are only small joys in life. The big ones are to complicated to be joys when you get all through with them. Once you realize this, it takes the pressure off.

If I don’t know the author, I do judge a book by its cover—and by its title. While I don’t generally do this with people, when looking for a new “used” book at the store, I have to admit that the cover and the title will grab me. (This doesn’t surprise me, considering I’m distracted by colors and  shiny things.)

Brown basmati rice is more expensive that “regular” brown rice, but worth every penny for the swap.

Of all the reasons to get married, love and pissing off your family are both pretty strong.

article-1294682-0A70C01F000005DC-38_468x628Don’t always believe everything you think. It can be nice to trust someone other than yourself.

It’s quite possible that this is the cutest video ever. If it doesn’t make you smile, you have no soul.

I think I love him.

Sometimes you have to remove self-judgment and look objectively at your own situation. You’re not that bad. It’s not that bad. Cut yourself some slack.

Most of the people that tell you to “relax” are almost always the source of your anxiety.

Inspiration Deficit Disorder isn’t a real thing, but it should be (hell, we give every other thing a “scientific” name.)

There is no baseline for normal. Once you realize this, it takes the pressure off.

The only thing I know about “The Hills is from what I’ve seen on “The Soup,” and that was entirely too much. That was really a show? (But I would be enthralled watching Joel read the phone book, so I can’t complain.)

soup-logo I think I love him.

You can stop without quitting, take a break when you want to. Once you realize this, it takes the pressure off.

Any FYI’s to share?

  1. Dude! I’m obsessed with The Soup! Joel is so freakin funny! I have what I like to call a “funny crush” on him and Jimmy Fallon. I don’t know if I would be as attracted to them if they weren’t hilarious.

Do you write these down during the week when you think them, or do you just remember? I’d have to have a pen and paper with me to write down all of my own FYIs of the week. Haha

    ❤ Tori

  2. You can stop without quitting. I like this. Because isn’t it true that if you keep doing something that is tearing you apart, you are quitting on your own potential? My FYI: When you order a spinach and chicken salad at a restaurant, you need the chicken.

  3. Comment FYIs:

Deet brings back terrible memories for me. Well actually the memories are good, it is the layers of Deet that were so bad.

I always judge a book by its cover. The problem these days is that a lot of bad books have really good covers.

I wasn’t so much into pissing off my family by getting married, but if that’s your thing Bristol, then go for it.

I don’t know the situation, but I wholeheartedly agree that you’re not that bad.

You are loving a lot of people/animals these days. I didn’t watch the video yet, but there is definitely a chance that I may fall in love…

    yah.

oh that vid is maj cuteness.

  5. Haha, the only thing I know about “The Hills” is from Joel’s mouth too. It’s about the only thing I don’t like coming out of his mouth.

    Bets Bristol is pregnant again?

And I always smell like garlic. I wanted to see if it would ward off the Twilight fans.

  6. You and I…..damn girl, we must be clones.
I’m married to Joel McHale, we decided to do so since we wanted to piss off our fams.
Did you know that “Soup” spin off called “the Dish” on the Style network, and she made fun of me when I was on millionaire matchmaker. Actually, it was very funny, if you cant laugh at yourself….
    here’s my FYI

-The Last Airbender is really about farting
    -Being optimistic is embarrassing
-I feel like having a baby and having a dog are pretty much the same except for the part where your vagina gets ruined
-Post-It notes are a great way to remind yourself of all the things you forgot to do
-If a woman tells you she likes your shirt, she hates your shirt
–The Bachelorette is like porn for women with worse editing
-Couples who ask u to switch seats on planes so they can sit together? Instant migraine

  7. Oh my gosh.. that video is SO CUTE =) Can I have him? Haha.
    ❤ Tat

  8. all pretty true, haha. you made me laugh today. especially about the people telling you to ‘relax’ being the source of your anxiety. I hate when people tell me that, it just pisses me off more. 🙂

  9. This post was a lot of fun to read. I’m right there with you re: Joel. When he started on his NBC show I was paranoid that he would quit The Soup. So far, so good 🙂

My FYI today: (health) insurance companies exist to make things harder, not easier, on you. arrrgh.

  10. There’s a huge difference between rebelliousness and simply disagreeing when it come to your parents. Learning the difference is vital to maturity.

  11. Is that a rabbit?! It’s so…fat. Tell it to stop eating! lol.

My brother may get married pretty soon by the way things are going with his girlfriend…and THAT would piss me off, majorly. So I guess you were right: love and pissing off family.

  12. I have more!

-Sex in the City used to make me feel lonely. Now it makes me feel poor
-People say relationships are ” work.” uh, no. Guys dont wear hideous cargo shorts to work.
-I feel like homeless people are using me for my money
-I bet Cinco De Mayo isn’t that much fun in Arizona

  13. I don’t get it…Bristol and Levi? What on earth? Maybe Kim is right and she is pregnant again?

I judge books by their cover all the time…especially if I don’t know the author. And sometimes even then.

I am never going to enjoy spending 12+ hours of quality time with my child. It isn’t going to happen no matter how much I wish it would. She needs to be back in school and I need to get back to work. End of story.
